"Ringing nhs 111 for my daughter."

About: Ipswich Hospital / Accident and emergency Practice Plus

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was only a few months old when I discovered a very big red rash all over her body. It was already 4pm and I knew I wouldn't be able to get a doctors appointment for that day, I called NHS 111 to get their advice as I didn't know what to do, I didn't think it was an emergency so I didn't call 999.

The call handler asked a lot of questions about my daughter and told me to go to A&E as it's best not to chance anything with such young children.

I was very worried once I discovered the rash all over her body but after speaking to the advisor she made me feel at ease and I quickly calmed down.
