"Breast reduction surgery"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Plastic Surgery & Burns

(as the patient),

I would just like to give Ward 214 at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary a massive shout out for the superb care I received from my breast reduction surgery. I have been waiting for this procedure for some time and it was an incredibly important decision for me. I was welcomed and cared for every step of the way. It is clear there is a strong team ethos in the ward and I was impressed by the knowledge the nursing team have to make sure I am pain-free and also the steps I need to take to look after my breasts when returning home. I would also like to acknowledge my main Consultant Thanassi who was very supportive in my plea for a breast reduction. I felt as though I could really share with him the realities of what it was like to be so top heavy and how it was impacting on my life in a negative way. He did a fantastic job!

Dear Jayne

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. I will make sure that the team, including your consultant and the nursing team are able to see your comments.

I am glad your time in the ward was a very positive one and this is even more poignant considering the pressures we are under.

So thank you again for taking the time to feedback and I wish you a speedy recovery

Kind regards

Sean Berryman (Unit Operational Manager)
