Been here for about 10 appointments over 3 years due to severe cin cell diagnosis and treatment.
Most of the staff were fine. A couple were quite unsympathetic towards how upset I was on a few appointments. One nurse in particular I requested not to have present after about 3 appointments as I found her so condescending and was assured she's one of the best..
After my initial procedure I got unclear post procedure information and had to do the research at home.
After my 8th or 9th appointment I got unclear information and was stressed for months for no reason about symptoms that weren't symptoms as the nurse hasn't been clear enough on what should be cause for concern and what shouldn't going forward.
All of the consultants I saw were great. Incredible in fact. The nurses were either great or terrible. No inbetween it seems. Receptionists also all brilliant.
I have also never once had an appointment run on time. The shortest wait was 40 mins beyond my appointment time. Which I feel is not okay given how very nervous some patients can be. I think a better system for this needs to be adopted. Perhaps schedule less patients into a short time and account for overrun when scheduling appointments.
If this hadn't been so important for my health I wouldn't go back to this department. Which is a shame in light of some of the excellent staff.
