"Service has not helped me."

About: Somerset House

(as a service user),

I feel that this place is a absolute joke. I have been going here for 2 years and they have made me worse than before, feel suicidal.

The psychiatrist has been chopping and changing my medication for the whole 2 years. It feels like, just picking out any drug they can think of taking me off one then on to the next. I have even seen them google about medication when I have been in the appointments.

I am now on paroxetine, I have been trying to come off for 2 months. I have constant side effects of dizziness, irritability, anger amongst other things. They then told me to then try some diazepam while I’m coming of them, which I have since learnt you should not mix together.

This is just the medication side of things the therapy and care teams are just as bad. There is no communication from them and I have asked to be moved for a different type of therapy, they do nothing about it.

The communication from them is dire, if you cancel a appointment be prepared to wait over 5 weeks for them to reply.

Based on my experience I wouldnt recommend this service.
