I have recently been referred to Tunbridge Wells Hospital for an operation on my feet and have been informed that there is a nine month waiting list. The hospital is within the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
I have also recently received treatment for a separate condition at the Will Adams Centre where a doctor advised me they could also treat my foot condition within a much shorter timescale. All I needed to do was ask my GP to refer me to the Will Adams Centre.
When I spoke to my GP I was told that it would probably take just as long suggesting there was little to gain. The Will Adams Centre is not part of the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Trust and wondered if it was a cross boundary funding issue.
I wanted to get in touch with the triage team based at Preston Hall to clarify how long the wait for the triage appointment would be but cannot get hold of them.
