I went to Hairmyres hospital in East Kilbride on Friday for an endoscopy which I was a bit concerned about. When I got there I met a lovely young nurse called Karina who took me through the paperwork and was so reassuring that everything would be alright. She was friendly and lovely and took me to where I needed to get changed for the examination. There I was met by another lovely, friendly nurse who passed me onto the endoscopy team which was headed up by Bernadette. These ladies were fabulous, chatted to me while they were preparing me for what was to come and Bernadette explained everything which was about to happen next.
I felt in very safe hands and was with a team of people who put me first and knew what they were doing and knew exactly how I was feeling. The care I received was first class and in no time I was in the recovery room being well cared for by Karina again.
I know they were "just doing their job" but it was they way in which they did it which showed care and empathy. I was very impressed by everyone I met. Great job girls, thank you very much as you made a difficult visit for me much easier!
"The team made me feel very relaxed."
