I'd like to give a massive thank-you to everyone involved in the robotic removal of my prostate plus everyone on the ward who helped me to recover and not forgetting the whole Urology Department. I'm also so grateful to the generous person who helped Derby Hospital to purchase the robotic surgery device.
After having a biopsy I was told that all of my samples on the left-hand side of my prostate had cancer. The cancer was a Gleason 3+4.
Although I was worried about the procedure everything went to plan. The professionalism and care I received was 1st class. I had a catheter fitted which I only had on for one week. I was relieved to find after the catheter was taken out that I had good control of my bladder although not perfect. I was back at work part-time in just over two weeks. In January 2019 I was told my cancer was contained within my prostate with no signs of any cancer breaking out. Wow what a result. The people that work for the NHS are truly amazing people.
Long Live the NHS
Many Thanks
Anthony Martin
