Hi,
For the past 13 years l have experienced a persistent cough, pin and needles in my arms, very cold feet, stress, anxiety.. flying off the handle, dizziness & blurred vision at times, extreme neck and shoulder pain, tingling in my arms and fingers, sore wrists.... lots and lots of yawning !!!! just lots and lots of wee minor things.
The main problem areas where my neck, shoulders and cough which l had been to the doctors, hospitals, acupuncher, chiropractor, asma clinics, physio and so on....
After going through various different avenues the last suggestion was to send me to see a lovely lady called Carolynn who worked in the physio dept at Monklands General Hospital. At this stage l was thinking what is the point... going to Physio again !!! l'm not going to even bother !!!!
It was my mum who said..... Look just go you've had this cough for 13 years.... whats half an hour out your life ???
It turned out to be the most worthwhile half an hour of my life !!!!
When l went in Carolyn started to ask me if l had all the above symptoms, totally amazed at her accurately l reply Yes to every one !!
To which she replied you have dysfunctional breathing...... l was basically not breathing properly and not using my stomach but my shoulder and chest which caused the neck & shoulder pain, pins and needles etc etc. All the above symptoms were in fact linked and caused by my breathing !!
Wow what a life changer.... after 6 months of physio with Carolynn and learning how to breath properly l can honestly say l am much more relaxed and pain free. l still have to work on it but the fact l know how to now is fantastic.
l just wanted to say a very big huge Thank You to Carolynn and Monklands Hospital on treating me and helping me overcome all these problems.
Carolynn you are amazing !!! After ever visit l just wanted to give her a big hug !! which l usually did !! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you xxx
