Full day DESMOND course

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Community diabetes service

(as a service user),

I am a full time carer for my wife who has dementia, I have diabetes and have been invited to attend a Desmond course to help with diabetes management. However, it is impossible for me to leave my wife for the whole day, although we have carers coming in  it is difficult for me leave her on her own for more than a few hours, say  half a day. I would love to attend the course, can it be delivered on two half days for people like me who cannot attend for the full day?

Hi there

Thank you for sharing this information with us. We understand your position and would really like to try and work with you to ensure you are able to attend the Desmond course. It is import to us that we make these courses as accessible as possible so your feedback is valuable to us. After feedback from people who couldn't make the day time sessions we have added some half day sessions. We have two taking place in April.
