"Cancelled surgery a week in advance due to an emergency"

(as a relative),

My sister had her cataract surgery cancelled one week in advance due to an "emergency".  Can you explain how an emergency can happen one week in advance?

She has now reached her waiting time limit.

She is at the moment, blind in the eye which requires surgery and cannot drive and undertake some daily tasks.  However, she still has to work which is causing issues with headaches every day.

Thank you for your post. I am sorry that there was reason to cancel your sister's surgery. If your sister could get in touch with me I will look into the reasons for cancellation further. I can also try to secure a new date for surgery as soon as possible.
