"It takes too long to move on"

About: Locked & Specialist Rehab / Ashby Ward

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

My only complaint is it takes too long to move on. My other complaint is it's up to staff to control but with not too much suffering. We are here to learn manners, do bedroom tidies and do courses.

Hospitals help you get out of a dangerous environment if you're in one but you need to keep the system moving if you're ready.

Listen to the patient, if he says he is ready then he is ready and I don't believe the doctor if they say that there are a lot of wind ups happening and its not you - I feel like they blame me for their own mistake.

Thank you for your feedback. I will ensure that this feedback is also given within your IPU and ward area.
At St Andrews we aim to look after people in the most least restrictive way to make sure people feel safe but with as much freedom as possible. I am sorry to hear that you feel that it takes too long to move on. I hope that you can work closely with your care co-ordinator and also care team to work towards your goals.

Kind regards

Angela Shaw
