"Oxford Healths lack of care of their own incompetence."

About: Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust / Adult Mental Health - Buckinghamshire Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust / Autistic Spectrum Disorder - Buckinghamshire

(as a carer),

Wife has been diagnosed with ASD.

No support has ever been given to me the official carer.

Since the diagnosis my wife has got worse which has made our family life with two small children hell. I reached out to the Oxford Health and the ASD assessors to so that I could be included in the whole matter. The opposite happened.  No responses. Promised call backs that didn't happen. Email contact agreed then ignored. Phone calls made to Oxford Health but there is never anyone around that do anything but make false promises about call backs.

Maybe a dozen times, consent has been asked for even though it had been given at every turn. Then nothing would happen.

A senior person was to look into the mess and come up with a joined up process and explain a way forward. Direct email was agreed. A call back time was agreed, then nothing. No responses.

Another senior person rang me but couldn't explain why they had rung! Had no explanation or resolution of the issues, refused to comment, denied having any knowledge of the issues!! I asked them to call back when they had something positive or a resolution, guess what - no response.

It feels like discrimination by Oxford Health and a breach of so much of the NHS Constitution and NHS Guidelines.

How did it start? Maybe because of a previous complaint about a GP that did discriminate against me. Maybe that I made a complaint against Oxford Healths for losing our file. Maybe that I complained against them for not adhering to the NHS Complaints procedure at any stage.  Even denying that they are responsible to carry out a complaints process for their own Health Care provider (Relate)!

I think Oxford Health have behaved with arrogance and complacency; when a complaint is made about shoddy health care delivery, they appear to kick the matter into the long grass, or throw the baby out with the bath water. They have had meetings, but it does not seem to improve health care.

Besides the ignored emails and phone calls and lost file/s. There is a matter of a  patients mixed up medical record, no explanation given despite complaint etc. Misinformation (about who works for who even) hence I didn't even know who to complain to about lack of contact and mistakes!

Treatments agreed then ignored without explanation.

Rudeness in writing, eventually a unique apology was extracted but still no response to the main problems in question.

Wife's symptoms that are not consistent with ASD ignored by everyone that I have had contact with including the ASD department themselves!

We turned up for appointment (2nd assessment after file lost in first) told person seeing us had got moved onto a different job, no room booked... Doh! Then explained that they was not the appropriate person to see anyway (so why this arrangement?!)

Was expecting appointment for my wife but received one just for me! Can't get explanation by phone, email or GP Letter.

I feel that Oxford Health seem to have lost sight of their purpose and responsibilities to patients and the NHS Guidelines and NHS Constitution. Other things seem more important than patient care, procedures, dignity or respect.

A disgrace...
