"Out of Hours staff"

About: Douglas Street Community Health Clinic Lanarkshire Community Services / GP Out of Hours service

(as a parent/guardian),

Our son is 4 and a half years old and has never really been ill. This was his first trip to out of hours as he has been pretty poorly recently. We were told a time to be there and were seen within a few minutes of this which was brilliant and something we didn't expect. We seen the childrens nurse (sorry we didn't get her name) at 10: 45 and she was great with our son who was a bit overwhelmed with all that was going on, After this we waited no more than 7-8 mins on the Doctor, Dr Coates. He was fantastic and reassuring to our son and very apologetic for making him choke when checking his airways. He even got a smile out our son which we hadn't seen for a few days. He was especially reassuring to us both as it was the first time doing this since our son was born, He also gave our son a small toy away to play with for doing so well, again was appreciated immensely and we would never hesitate to attend again should we really need to (fingers crossed we don't though! )

Dear Killie1992,

Thank you for such a wonderful review and I'm delighted you were happy with the service your son received. I will pass on you comments to Dr Coates and Arlene, Paediatric Nurse, who were involved in your son's care and I hope he is feeling better soon..

Yes, please do. At that time of night, in what I can only imagine is a tough job, they were a credit to their profession and already seeing slight improvements today from our son!
