"The First Year of Widowhood as a sufferer with serious mental illhealth"

About: Long Leys Road

(as a service user),

Lost my wife a year ago this time.   I felt the standard of care has been atrocious and for three months someone visited for half a hour a week.   No empathy or connection.   Pill checkers really.   Are you taking your tabs sorts and they are gone.     Then the house I'm living in had a major flooding issue with the bathroom and kitchen requiring a major refit.   The mental health sorted me a room in this hotel, they've never visited me here.   Feel I've been imprisoned here.   With a shop doorway as a alternative.   All my sentimental things from the years with my wife at the house.   So it is a very depressing situation, and I'm supposed to be thankful for it because the alternative is a shop doorway.

Thank you very much for letting us know how you are feeling at the moment and I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling and I am sorry for your loss.

Please contact me on 01529 222266 and I will be able to contact the mental health team that you are assigned and ask them to contact you and offer you support.

It can be very difficult when you feel alone- if you have contact details for a mental health team yourself and don't want to contact me please use them and get in touch to tell them how you are feeling at the moment.

If you do not have contact please get an appointment with your GP- your mental health is as important as your physical health and they would be able to review you too.

I really would like to speak to you and hope you will pick up the phone.

Kind regards,

Cathy Hobbs, Patient Experience, LPFT
