"Ward 215 are fabulous!"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Physiotherapy Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Vascular (Blood Vessels)

(as the patient),

I had an extended stay in ward 215 (vascular) following a below the knee amputation. The staff there are exceptional, from the nurses, student nurses and doctors to the health care assistants and cleaners. They are all so friendly and eager to help. The standard of care I received there was second to none. I have complete trust in them and I was sad to leave! I must also extend some praise to Ish the OT. Seeing his friendly smile and positive nature every day contributed to my recovery.

The only down side to my experience was my interaction with a porter who took me down to physio. They were very forceful in nature, didn't listen and actually made me cry. Karen the physio is a lovely lady to work with. The physio area is a very long way from ward 215.

Dear vma

Thank you for your kind comments regarding your recent stay in ward 215. Its very reassuring that you received a standard of care that was "second to none" and that you had complete trust in the team.

I'm sorry to read of your experiences with the porter who took you down to the physiotherapy department. I shall ensure that these comments are shared with the portering manager.

Your comments have been shared with Evalyn and her team, they will be delighted to read that they have made such a difference to your stay.

I'm feeling very proud of all our hardworking staff! We very much hope that you are on the road to recovery.

Best wishes

Linda Carmichael
