"Waiting on a specialist eye doctor to assess my eyes"

About: Coathill Hospital

(as the patient),

I am a diabetic due to steroids as I have Sarcoidosis. I went for a Diabetic Retinopathy Screening at Coathill Hospital.

I received a letter in September to say that there are diabetic changes to my eyes.

I was advised that I would receive an appointment shortly for the eye assessment.

That was 9 weeks ago and I have received no appointment.

My problem is I need new glasses but Vision Express or Specsavers will not see me until they know the result of this test.

I need glasses for every part of my life and I am now suffering from severe headaches as I am using old prescription glasses.

Can anyone advise me when my assessment will be done?

Dear Francis,

Thanks for taking the time to provide the feedback above. I'm sorry that the wait to see an ophthalmologist is causing you frustration.

If you would like to contact our Patient Affairs team on 01355 585325 and provide them with your details then I would be happy to look into the matter for you further.

Kind Regards,

Cameron
