My wife was recently a patient at Stoke Mandeville hospital during her extensive pre-care, emergency Caesarean Section and subsequent aftercare.
We would like to thank the staff in the Day Assessment Unit, the Labour Ward, the surgical team, and the Rothschild Ward for their dedicated, professional, and extremely impressive standard of care.
We received unstinting care, medication and attention in clean surroundings. The c-section was performed safely and went flawlessly and frankly the fact that both my wife and child are alive after the experience - I could have knelt on the ground and kissed the mans hands.
The experience has been an inspiration for me personally – I only wish the members of my team at work were half as committed.
These people are great.
Having lived abroad for many years, I returned to the UK with a newfound appreciation for the NHS.
We get really great free treatment here. It should be appreciated.
This whole experience has made me very proud of the people who work for the NHS. You do a wonderful job, clearly working very hard under difficult circumstances and we both really admire the work that you do. This is a truly great thing.
The one fly in the ointment is that we have been utterly disgusted by the beyond inappropriate harassment and billing that both Patients and Staff endure from UKPC Limited whilst merely parking on site. Every member of clinical staff I questioned had received parking tickets from this vile firm whilst simply doing their job. I received two parking tickets during my wife's treatment, even though I had paid for parking.
This is a distressing counterpoint to the excellent care and commitment shown by the clinical staff.
I shall be raising this matter separately with the appropriate parties since it is incredible that the trust has employed this firm clearly for the purposes of generating profit at the expense of both patients and it's own very hard-working staff.
Shame on the trust management for that decision.
I shall be raising this further with the appropriate parties.
"Absolutely no complaints. Clinical staff were..."
