"rude reception"

About: Marisco Medical Practice

Ok-

I know reception is a thankless job at times and can be very stressful, but I simply wanted to hand in a sample not to see a doctor nor a nurse I did not want an appointment ,but unfortunately now you have to wait in a cue to simply plonk your sample in a box which if it was on the desk as it used to be I and others could just walk in drop it in box and walk out ?

obviously there must be a reason for this and I would have liked the reception staff to be able to tell me why ? but alas this is the rules end of !

Now the samples have to be in by 11.30am so I was told, but if you have to be in work your only chance is to drop it off between 8 and 8.30am when there is usually a huge Que and waiting times can be quite long so making you late for work etc. but my real complaint is the reception staff member who informed me by the wave of a hand in an aggressive and pretentious manner that I must que she was obviously stressed and I was not the only one who observed and suffered her her bad attitude, it is the first time I have ever come across such a rude and impolite member of staff ,on the whole they are really professional and this is the first and I hope the last time I come across this ignorant woman.

But please put the drop off box back out it saves time and smaller ques.

We apologise that you now have to queue to hand in a sample, the reason for this is because a large volume of patients simply put their samples in the sample bin with no details on what so ever, therefore rendering it impossible to get the right results to the right patient. Then when you the patient call in for the results and we don’t have them they become upset and cross assuming we have lost them. The reception team endeavour to deal with the queues as efficiently as possible, I can only apologise on their behalf that they did not take the time to explain the reasons why, they would send you back into the queue as the other patients get agitated when other people “push in”

It is for these reason that it is with regret that I have to inform you that we will not be putting the sample bin back out on the desk, however I do hope you can accept the reasons why.
