"Spiritual care"

About: Kilbryde Hospice

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

The care from the Chaplain has been very good and her visits have helped me spiritually, as I was losing my faith a bit and she helped bring it back to me. Just to know there will be someone there for me at the end as a person and not just a number. The Chaplain's visit makes me feel like God has been brought into my home, without her actually speaking about God in our conversations.

Dear Lesjy48

Thank you for taking the time to tell us how you felt about our Chaplaincy visits to you at home. Our Spiritual Care team is an important aspect of the care we deliver here at Kilbryde and our chaplain is a major part of this team. Kilbryde Hospice is as responsible for providing spiritual care to you as physical care and I'm delighted to hear that you felt that God had been brought into your home. I trust that your faith will be strengthened by this and and any possible future visits. I will pass on your positive comments to our Chaplain and ensure our Spiritual Care Volunteers are informed of your positive feedback.

Once again thank you for your comments

Kind regards

Margaret Mary Cowan

Clinical Services Manager
