I was in NHS Fife maternity ward for a week in July. I was induced in mid July and after 36 hrs of labour I was taken for an emergency section. Following my section I was moved to recovery but extremely ill. My husband was left to care for our newborn baby-he hadn’t even held a baby before. The staff were amazing, we had a nursery nurse helping my husband with nappy changes, dressing our son and also showed him how to feed our son. This made me feel at ease. I was then diagnosed with sepsis which was picked up and treated so quickly by the nursing staff. I was in hospital for a further 3 days and didn’t have any issues at all with the care I received. The staff were busy and never stopped but nothing was ever a bother!
