"Brother with Terminal"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Cancer Services (Medical Oncology)

(as a relative),

My  brother has been diagnosed with his third batch of cancer which is terminal. My brother, the patient my younger brother and myself are finding it very difficult to understand the situation regarding his treatment. He was investigated by the respiratory consultant and then his case was passed to an oncologist. We have had very little information about what is happening over the coming weeks. We have repeatedly asked for information. My brother the patient was in hospital for 10 days for chemotherapy. We do not know what Chemo was used, what other chemo may be used, how long it will be used for when it might be stopped or what the plan is. When will we know if the chemo is working. How long my brother has left. I know that not all questions can be answered but the lack of information is shockingly bad. The doctors caring for my brother stories conflict and this is causing unnecessary stress and confusion. We lost our mum our dad and brother in the last few years and now our brother. Things are very difficult.
