What could be improved

I called 999 due to my grandmother (who is 78 and disabled) having chest pains and irregular heartbeat. Well my grandmother arrived at the A&E to find a welcoming note or statement of "There is no space" and then asked the ambulance crew "why she was brought here" due to lack space she was asked to sit on a chair in a waiting room although there were plenty of spare empty beds around. Having waited 22:00 until 01:40 just to been seen by a doctor who said "it’s just a waste of time to come here as they can't do anything about a heart condition." After doing an ECG check at around 02:20 after doctor asked a nurse to do it which the nurse responded " I have too many people waiting and as its not life threatening she can wait" Then we were took to a waiting area with the doctor to which every 10-20 mins he decided to come and ask questions about the symptoms and how long they have been for. At that point the doctor turned to say “I will give you an aspirin and you can go home" To which I responded this is not flu.

Anything else?

The doctor then disappeared and came back at around 03:30 to say she will be going for a chest x-ray and blood test. So far 4 hrs in a waiting room with a 78 yr old with chest pains. My grandmother then took her own medicine to calm the pain a bit. After the x-ray was done at around 0520 I got fed up of chasing the doctor 2 hours after the x-ray and tests were done I started to get frustrated as it was now around 8 hours with my disabled grandmother sitting on a waiting chair. I passed the doctors area and I said to the nurse that I am going as I am fed up of waiting for the doctor to give me the results to which she responded “Please stay and I will get the doctor to chase the results for you." Around 0540 the doctor came with the results and said “They can’t do anything and she has to see her GP and get referred to cardiologists" Then she was prescribed aspirin and omeprazole for gastric pains. 0550 finally off the chairs on our way home.
