"Referral for two skin lesions."

About: Amersham Hospital / Dermatology

(as a relative),

I am writing on behalf of my husband who wonders if the Doctors treating him are fully aware of the delays.

GP referred him to SMH dermatology in late July

Used so called Choose and Book system but SMH could not offer any appointments.  Amersham gave him one in late September.

Excellent service running on time.

Specialist said the lesions were both cancer and would be removed on the same day,

The specialist said the appointment would be between 6 to 8 weeks.

Letter arrives with an appointment for January 2019, a total of 18 weeks and 24 weeks from the GP referral.

We were both surprised and disappointed.

Whenever cancer is involved patients feel anxious as we are sure you know.

We are also concerned that the doctors involved appear unaware of the longer waits.
