"Thanks for everything"

I write to you from PICU in Gloucester where I have been for four days after leaving you on Saturday, it is really nice to be closer to home so my family and friends can come and see me more. I think you would understand this. I saw my mum this afternoon-she brought me flowers which I am allowed in my room ( I wonder why you don't allow people flowers in their rooms on Frinton ward-just a thought)

Thank you for looking after me while I was with you all, all the drinks you made me & supper you prepared for me etc. Thank you for being friendly and smiley.  I enjoyed talking to you but I wasn't very talkative, so it was not a lot! I hope to be back to my more chatty self soon.

The food I found amazing, I always looked forward to mealtimes and was so grateful to the chef(s) so thank you for keeping me so well fed.  the food here is not so good but we have a kitchen here on the ward-so on Wednesday's we cook food for everyone, so tomorrow I will cook a cottage pie and bake a chocolate cake-exciting.

I am not looking forward to the colder darker days ahead-it's feeling more chilly and autumnal now, but I'm in hospital I suppose it doesn't matter because I hardly go outside anyway. I wonder for how much longer i'll be in hospital? it would be nice not to miss another summer!

I think I will be back to my normal self in 3 years time, or there about, so plenty of time left in hospital, but it will be time to heal and reflect. I think I will be a better person because of it. So thank you for all the parts you all played in helping that to happen.  I also want to thank the cleaners there- they work so hard- it was always really clean and tidy.

I think all of you need to work less and have more time off, it is not healthy to work such long days and nights, it is also not fair you have to watch us eat and  drink all day, but you guys don't get to do this with us, I think staff should be allowed to sit with us and all eat together.

there is not a great deal more to say, other than Thank you again.
