"Nurse angels at Clinic P"

About: New Victoria Hospital / Chemotherapy

(as a relative),

I live remotely in the inner Hebrides so when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer it was distressing to know I couldn’t be there physically on a daily or even weekly basis to offer support. Last week she finished her last course of treatment and talked at length about the impeccable and outstanding care and love she had been given by all the staff, particularly the nurses at Clinic P. The banter and joyful atmosphere gave light at a time when darkness could easily have consumed her. When she had finished her last appointment all the staff came out and gave congratulatory hugs. This meant a lot for mum and me when I couldn’t be there! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Please remember you are always appreciated x

Dear Islanddaughter,

Thank you for posting your feedback on Care Opinion.

This must have been a stressful and emotional situation for you and your mother. I am glad to hear that the kindness and attention your mother received helped you through difficult times. The knowledge that your mother was being supported by the staff at Clinic P must have given you comfort while not being able to be with her physically.

I will ensure that your kind comments are shared with the nurses who were involved in your mother’s care; they will be touched to hear such praise. They will appreciate that their dedication and commitment are being recognised.

I hope that your mother is recovering well and I wish you and your mother all the very best for the future.

Kind regards,

Antje
