"P.A.R.S - A Doorway to normal living"

About: Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

...and how one element delivers the goods!

The Physical Activity Referral Service (PARS) helps people living with long-term health conditions to increase their levels of physical activity in a safe and structured environment.

(Their description)

From one particular member of staff at Withington Community Hospital to another two at at Withington Baths, my experience of the delivery of the service was just brilliant.

The efforts made by each person involved were exemplary and committed.

I was involved with one staff member first, then another, then the first one again again.-------

They had their own take on the exercises, but they were broadly using the same

techniques. No pressure...but we were all going to get our bodies back to the best they can be!

I speak as a customer of this service and find that I can not do without it.

From the social aspects to the physical repair details the staff unrelentingly delivered the exercises: sympathetically but with purpose! We weren't allowed to feel sorry for ourselves...but we had to do as much as we could, but no more. We are protected and cared for.

I heard that this service might be withdrawn: that would be a disaster for patients all through Manchester!

We would all be losers!

Save our PARS!!
