(as the patient),

I have an appointment booked for Friday 

Today I got told the DR is off sick and is cancelling all appointments, I totally understand people get sick and need time off but surely there is another DR that can run the clinic.

The whole reason I had my appointment for this Friday is that I can only attend the hospital on Mondays or Fridays as I work away from home. I have now lost a days pay and have also spent extra Monday to travel back home for the appointment.

Dear Letdown patient

Firstly can I offer my sincere apologies that we have had to cancel your clinic appointment. I completely understand your frustration and disappointment especially when having to arrange time off work and this now having a financial impact.

It is rare that we have to cancel clinics due to staff sickness and we do look at alternative options but on this occasion we do not have other medical cover as all our doctors are already committed to clinics. Please be reassured that the decision was not taken lightly and that we will try to get alternative arrangements made for you and others affected as soon as possible.

If you would be willing, please contact me directly on 01563 827923 so that I may be able to help co-ordinate an appointment that fits in with your work schedule and again accept my apologies.
