My mother is in redburn rehab at irvine she took a stroke roughly three months ago, since then she has been diagnosed with aphasia through taking the stroke, she knows most times what she wants to say but all the words come out wrong,
one day she was very upset and panicking thinking she was going home or somewhere and my brother who was there that day could not quite understand her ,yet the auxiliary lady stayed with my mum the whole time and worked with her to calm her down and do her best to solve and try and relax my mother as she was very upset, even my brother could not get her to stop crying,
I felt this was brilliant that the lady auxiliary I think her name is sady not too sure but she knows who she is.....was fantastic as she has got to know my mum and understands her on the level that she can communicates with her now,so if it was not for her my mum would never have stopped crying etc
All the staff there are fantastic they have done wonders with my mum from the dietitian helping mum gain weight after losing 4 st, to the physio getting her to walk a few metres again,
Also the speech therapy and occupational have taken my mum to the best level possible,
I will never forgot what they have all done for her,
The nursing staff are really great and always helpful with anything u need to know regarding my mum,Also the auxiliaries down to the tea ladies are all fantastic overall I think 10 out of 10 for irvine rehab redburn centre,I hope I have not missed thanking any other staff members as they are brilliant and take the time with your family to understand their needs etc ,my mother is like a new person since she went there from crosshouse physically especially and mentally, so thanks again to redburn for the 100% careso many names to mention but I know they know who they are thankyou always
"my mother is like a new person"
