"Nursing Practice"

About: Western General Hospital / Oncology

(as a relative),

My Sister was recently treated for Neutropenia and  Sepsis following her second dose of Chemotherapy for Breast Cancer. There were very positive aspects about her stay in Ward 4 Oncology but unfortunately some very concerning and negative aspects with regard to her care in Ward 8 Haematology at The Western General in Edinburgh.

Dear Jonesrc1,

The quality of the care we provide is very important to us and while I am pleased that there have been positive aspects to your sister's care, I am sorry to here that that wasn't consistent.

I would be really grateful if you would be good enough to contact the Patient Experience Team on 0131 536 3370, so that we can understand your sister's experience and learn from it.

Many thanks

Catriona Rostron

Associate Nurse Director
