"20 week anomaly scan"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Maternity care

(as a service user),

I had a very positive experience today at my 20 week anomaly scan at Ayrshire Maternity Hospital. Aimee the sonographer and Carol Ann the HCSW were so friendly they put myself and my husband at ease straight away.

Aimee took the time to point out the baby's anatomy including their heartbeat, hands and feet, spine which was great! She also explained all the measurements she was taking and what everything meant so we didn't feel completely clueless as to what was going on. It was really reassuring for me and my husband and we left with some lovely scan images and big smiles on our faces so thank you very much Aimee and Carol Ann!

Thank you for your kind feedback pegasuspc46

Although the anomaly scan gives you another opportunity to see your baby it can be a worrying time too, and it does make such a difference when everything is explained.

I will pass on your message to Aimee and Carol Ann, and indeed all at our scan department

best wishes

Geraldine
