From the start of my Journey depsite being very scared I knew I was with extremly competant and confident medical staff who cared about not only me but my Carer/Husband as well. From the initial investigation where despite having been sent for the wrong test the consultant doing the test involved my carer in the proceedure and the staff went above and beyond to ensure I was relaxed. Things moved fast after that and within 4 months I was diagnosed and operated on in such a manner that my recovery was fast and trouble free.
My Surgeon Mr McNally was exceptional, he left me with no doubt that the operation was necessary and said he would take care of it himself, which he did and he oversaw his team when I was recovering, his whole team are exceptional. I was expected to stay a fortnight in hospital but was able to go home in 8 days. This was due to how Mr McNally performed the operation to minimise muscle problems and to the incredible staff on the wards who took care of me and did so by ensuring my mental health needs were met, Including having my carer/husband in a single room with me from 7am to 9-10pm thereby ensuring that I was calm and relaxed. The hospital team also made sure my husband had somewhere to stay on hospital grounds so that he was on hand for me 24/7 without the long distance driving he would have had to do with out that.
