"Disorganised and ride"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital / Maternity care

My first time being pregnant.

At my 12 week scan I was refused testing for downs, pataus and Edwards syndrome as I had not been to see my midwife first. After complaining I was rescanned.

I was referred for a growth scan and baby was on the 10th percentile but a referral to consultant was not made. 3 weeks later my midwife routine appointment was concerned that a referral had not been made, rang the hospital for advice and I was told to go to the hospital for a growth scan urgently. Got to the hospital and waited an hour in ADAU and was told there was no availability for scan so sent home and awaited a call.

I rang next day and ultrasound did not have any appointments available. It was 2 days later I was scanned, then due to being on the 10th percentile I was sent to entrance 2 to see a consultant. Yet again, consultant didn’t want to see me and I was told to come back after the weekend.

Had my consultant appointment and was told I had to have yet more scans, one was an MCA which I was told was a brain scan.

I wasn’t told much about this scan and was quite scared. I rang my midwife and she was able to calm me down and answer my questions.

I was induced on my due date, had my referral been made on time I might have been induced earlier due to babies weight.

The service has called for this pathway to do extra growth scans but can’t actually facilitate the extra scans due to staffing.

Constantly long waiting times which is made worst by extortionate parking fees.

I have complained to PALS, midwifery, ultrasound and the CEO and they failed to resolve the complaint.

I gave my feedback to the Care quality commission also
