About: University Hospital (Coventry)

What I liked

I am writing on behalf of my mother in law, so some of above comments have been completed on her behalf. In a nutshell, the care received by a very confused, often extremely agitated & unwell lady was beyond reproach. She was also, for the first time, assessed for dementia which had previously never been addressed, despite several spells in the same hospital within the past 18 months.

So in essence, these comments apply to Ward 20 nursing staff, but I would like to think, do apply in other areas of this hospital.

We really appreciate you finding time to provide feedback on the positive experience of your mother-in-law. We are lucky to have many dedicated staff here that truly care for their patients and I am happy to hear you give such praise for the care your mother-in-law received while on one of our Wards.

The Trust has done much to educate all staff on dementia awareness and this forms part of all new starters mandatory training. Last week we opened a Memory Lane and Forget-Me-Not lounge. This is part of the Trust’s Forget-Me-Not Not campaign which aims to highlight the importance of dementia care to ensure all dementia patients are communicated and cared for in the right environment.

I have passed your feedback to the nursing staff on Ward 20 and again would like to thank you for taking the time to get in touch.
