"Caring nurse during bone marrow biopsy"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Clinical Haematology (Ward 16)

(as the patient),

I was given a boost by Nurse Jane in early August, she made me feel at ease and explained the procedure in depth prior to completing the biopsy, I felt relaxed and happy to have such a caring person helping me.

I suffer from a variety of health conditions including Fybromyalgia, I was terrified at the thought of this biopsy and scared that it would be a pain that was unbearable, I was blessed to have Jane as my nurse as she insured I was happy every step during the procedure, it’s not the nicest procedure to go through, I was happy and relaxed.

Jane ensured that the area was fully numb before carrying out the procedure , I coped well with the pain and the recovery time for me was 48 hours, I was back to work on the Friday after the biopsy being done on the Wednesday morning, I’m advising you all of this as those that may also have fibromyalgia will be able to gauge recovery time.

I cannot thank Jane enough, if only more people were as caring and efficient the world would be a better place, thanks again Jane you are one in a million.

Dear babe110

Thank for your taking the time to provide us with very positive feedback on your recent visit to hospital for a biopsy. This type of biopsy is not easy for patients but delighted to her that Jane helped you through every step of the procedure to feel relaxed and happy.

We are always delighted to hear such positive feedback about our staff and we will make sure that your feedback is discussed with Jane.

We also appreciate your advice for other similar patients on the recovery time.

Thanks again for the feedback which we promise to share with Jane and others who also carry out this type of procedure. May I take this opportunity to wish you well with your health.

Warmest regards

Margaret
