"MEAU~ excellent care!"

About: DHU Healthcare CIC / NHS 111 Lincoln County Hospital / Medical emergency assessment unit (MEAU)

(as a parent/guardian),

After ringing 111 for advice my son was seen by the Duty Dr in the out of hours service and then admitted to MEAU. As a frantically concerned mum I was very impressed by the prompt and efficient way my son was admitted....much to his disgust as he thought I was just fussing! From the point of admission to the ward he was treated so well. The housekeeper is a little gem, the student nurses on the ward were great, but the outstanding nurse award goes to Shona. Its very difficult as a health care professional to watch your son be so ill and be helpless. She explained clearly and professionally the care, medication and treatment plan for my boy and treated him with the utmost respect and for that I will be eternally grateful. He was bitterly disappointed to be eventually allocated a bed on a ward! MEAU is such a busy unit with a high turnover but credit to all that work on their for our little journey through it.
