"Urology Day Case in ward 32"

I was referred for cystoscopy and was offered a 3 day notice procedure following someone else's cancellation.

The appointment was for Saturday afternoon in ward 32. The nurse deserves special mention in her management of the admissions for that afternoon. Despite being very busy I was impressed by her organisation and the way I was kept informed of the afternoon's programme. The consultant urologist had a most pleasant and friendly manner. After my cystoscopy the consultant neurologist took the opportunity to inform me of the findingsbefore I returned to ward 32 for recovery and post op checks. The staff were all very accommodating and nothing seemed too much trouble.

This was despite the ward being full.

Well done all involved!

I was allowed home later that evening.
