"Good doctors, appalling person on reception"

My parents have been at this practice for over 40 years.

My experience with the people (or perhaps person) handling the phone calls has been shocking and, at times, extremely distressing.

I was trying to get help for my elderly mother just after my father had passed away earlier this year and was met with hostility and defensiveness (for no apparent reason) and she even seemed pleased to be making me more upset at a time when I felt I had no where to turn.

6 months later and again, trying to get an appointment for my mum and the same person aggressive and causing more stress in an already upsetting and stressful situation.

How someone can work in such a profession with such a terrible manner and zero compassion is beyond me and has really been a cause for so much unnecessary extra upset at an already very distressing time.

Shocking is all I can think of to sum it up.

On the plus side, thank goodness all the doctors have been lovely and very helpful once we have finally got past the battle with the person on reception.

I'm actually at a loss to describe how awful she has been in my several experiences calling up.
