About a week ago, I visited Arrowe Park Hospital due to a terrible pain around my kneecap that I thought would be better checked out as I couldn't walk properly or straighten it out.
I waited roughly 45 minutes to be seen to by a nurse who, because it had only been a couple of days since the injury, essentially told me that it was "early days" but sent me for an x-ray anyway. I then waited another hour at least to be seen to by the x-ray department even though I had already been told it's unlikely that my kneecap was broken - which it wasn't. After another half an hour waiting to be seen to by the same nurse, I was told to put ice over the knee-cap and take ibuprofen and that it will be fine in a week.
I should also mention that each consultation with the nurse took roughly 2 minutes and I felt that the actual time spent looking at my knee to begin with was rushed, as if they had already made up their mind that my knee was fine.
Now, a week later, the pain is worse but I am still told (after a visit to one of the hospital's partner walk-in-clinics) to keep limping on it and to apply ice, despite it not working to subside the pain whatsoever.
"They had already made up their mind"
