I have received treatment from the podiatry team a few weeks ago and needed to them make a further appointment for more insoles. Each time I called the booking office the recorded message told me they could only make appointments 3 weeks form now or that the appointments were all taken and would need to call back. Subsequently I could not make an appointment at a time that was mutually suitable, particularly as I needed to see a specific podiatrist who needed to add bumps to the insoles in very precise locations. This podiatrist works in several different locations which adds to the difficulty in making an appointment with him.
I was dumbfounded when I received a letter informing me that I had been taken off any further treatment as they had not received any further contact from me. This is just not true, it's not that they had not received any contact from me it's that they have not been able to give me an appointment - there is a huge difference and I am being penalised for a booking system that is flawed.
It also made no sense to me that I was given just one pair of insoles which I needed to switch from one pair of shoes to another. When I queried this I was advised that I could get more insoles off my own bat but that the bumps would need to be applied by the podiatrist as accuracy was essential. As an engineer I believe this would have been within my ability.
I now have insoles that are worn out, have difficulty walking and need to start the process all over again with a referral from my GP. Appalling.
