Hi, I just want to relate my story about the process I went through when I joined the healthy lung testing project, I received a letter from my gp in the brownlow practice asking me did I want to be tested has I had been a smoker in the past, I accepted the offer and went to a local health centre, I had the test and they found a small anomaly I was sent to the royal for a scan, I was in and out of the hospital in 20 minutes, I was phoned by my gp about 2 weeks later to say that I needed to go on a course of antibiotics and then to wait 6 weeks to have another scan the gp was fantastic and talked me through what would be the next process, I had the second scan and was told that the results where exactly the same no change whatsoever and I would need a biopsy to establish exactly what the shadow was, I had the biopsy, and two weeks later had a appointment with the cancer specialist, I was really nervous but was informed that they had looked at the pathology and it was benign, I was over the moon, I had been treat brilliantly from the outset, and cannot praise our doctors nurses and all clinicians ay broadgreen heart and chest and all NHS staff, I now feel completely free from stress knowing my lungs are free from disease, and would advise anybody to take up the offer of a healthy lung check up.
