I've been home for a few days, but I just want people to know how extremely grateful I am in every aspect of care I received.
first of all I was diagnosed with a 7mm aneurysm which I had coiled at, I cant thank Dr Du Plessis enough on how he actually saved my life, Im also getting the feeling back in my face. Dr Plessis came across very kind, compassionate and a person who genuinely cares for his patients considering the extreme workload these guys are under Im just blown away. please pass on my thanks to him. I would also like to thank the staff in theatre, when I woke up I was really sick and how quick they stopped this was just fantastic. thankyou.
also I want to acknowledge the staff in HDU in ward 33 DCM the one person who sticks in my mind the most is Donna the wee Irish nurse she was working nightshift, omg what a person and an asset to your ward she certainly made me feel safe and well looked after, as soon as she started her shift we hit it off straight away, I like how she took time to listen to me and share some of her stories with me too. I was on hourly observations and I liked how she apologised for the noises and alarms going off in our room which I understand it cant be helped but the fact she saw me as an actual person and not just a patient was so appreciated, Donna felt more like a friend rather my nurse this made me feel more at ease with everything that was going on with me. The other nurse who stands out a mile and she remembered me because my dad was also in DCM ward 33 earlier on in the year was Ailidh, (Aylee) the care she gave....unbelievable. I cannot fault how professional and kind these girls are, how they manage to look after all these patients at the highest level of care I will never know , the confidence and passion they have just naturally oozes from them, well done girls .the day staff were just as incredible too. Atilla and the blond haired HCW who brought me tea thankyou so much. the students omg I cant remember their names but they are equally amazing as your qualified staff I really couldn't fault them.
thankyou so much for making a very stressful situation for me more bearable. keep up the great work .
"Keep up the great work"
