"My Sons Discharge From the NHS"

The NHS were supporting my son with speech & language assistance and then suddenly wrote to us to say they felt they were up to date with everything they can help with at this stage and if they hadn't heard from us by a specific date then he will be discharged.

I phoned the department concerned to inform them that our own speech therapist (whom we employ to bolster our sons learning) was coming back to us with advice on the letter and that I will have a letter to them on the week of the due date but possibly not by the specific date itself. I received a call on the morning of three days before my son's discharge date reassuring me that our son was not being abandoned and I reiterated that we were in the process of formally responding. I hand delivered our formal response three days after the due date. This response contained the new evidence to show that our son would benefit from continued support from the NHS and I still have not received a response. I have however, been informed by two third parties that our son was indeed discharged from the NHS and that if he requires further support then he will need to be re-assessed and meet the appropriate criteria.

I am trying to be calm about this situation but given I left a voice mail stating that we were awaiting new evidence, did not agree with their decision, spoke to a member of staff reiterating the above and still, they swiftly discharged him from the NHS and haven't had the courtesy of replying to our letter is, I feel, beyond belief.
