"Care on C5 orthopaedic ward"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a volunteer/advocate),

On behalf of a patient on C5 who wished to send anonymous feedback:

Patient care ranged from excellent to quite poor. There were individuals who made them very comfortable and went above and beyond, but others who perhaps weren't educated enough in handling patients with fractures who are unable to move in certain ways and therefore were in pain. There were also comments thought to be rude such as 'you've hurt my back' when staff pushed patients to move their permission on the bed.

Thanks for sharing this feedback on behalf of one of our recent patients. I am sorry to hear that standards of care were inconsistent. I have shared this feedback with the ward team so we can learn from this and make improvements where they are needed. If the patient wishes to discuss their concerns with us directly we would welcome the opportunity to listen. Our PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) contact details are 0800 183 0204 / pals@nuh.nhs.uk and we would be grateful if you could share this information with the patient on our behalf.

Kind regards

Chantal Mee

Ward Manager, C5
