"Severe back pain."

About: Borders General Hospital / Acute Assessment Unit Borders General Hospital / General Medicine

(as the patient),

Unexplained lower back pain and changes in bowel/toilet habit.

A lot of pain and discomfort. Difficulty walking, sitting, laying down.

Referred by my GP, then admitted to AAU then ward 6 at Borders general hospital. All of the staff, nurses, doctors, consultants, radiology department were first class. Polite, attentive, caring and respectful. I was kept informed at every stage and felt very reassured by the excellent care given.

Dear Mr G-H,

Thank you so much for taking the time to feedback your positive experience of care in AAU/MAU in the BGH.

As you have so rightly pointed out, all care given within a hospital setting is provided by a wide team and so I am delighted that you had great care from across the range of professionals that you met! I was also delighted to read that you felt well informed throughout your stay as clearly communication is the absolute foundation of good quality healthcare!

As Gareth and Lynne have said above, we will share your kind words with the wider team and I can assure you that reading about positive patient experiences, improves morale within all of our team members!

Many thanks again for taking the time to leave your story and I hope that you are now recovering well!

Best wishes,

Lynn
