"Silly waiting time"

About: Grove Medical Centre

Have been waiting to see the doctor over an hour after the set time. The reception advice that the doctor you are seeing is going to be a little late but they do not tell the truth, that it is going to be an hour late. I mean I understand you are busy clinic but I am a working person as well and I do not have all day to sit in the waiting room because you can not set the appointment time right. Once seeing the doctor the room had really unpleasant smell. I can imagine there were lots of patients before , since I was waiting for so long , but I can not imagine, why the ventilation is not used in such a case. It is putting off to see the doc in the smelly room. The most annoying thing is that my whole visit took 5min. I got the antibiotic perscription for the water infection which I suffer of, but the doc in charge did not even bother to check my urine . Personally I will be changing this practice asap. And if I need to see medic in the next few days I rather go to emergency than the grove medic center as definitely I will be looked after by more professional staff.

Thank you for your comment about the Grove Medical Centre. We are sorry to hear you had to wait over an hour for your appointment.

The Practice has a complaints procedure in place to deal with any concerns about the Practice and we encourage these to be raised with the Practice Manager who will formally investigate the complaint.

We try our best to keep to appointment times and it can be very difficult at times.

There are many reasons why a clinic may run late, however, it is unusual to wait over 1 hour for a booked appointment, below are some examples of why these delays may occur:

? Patient requires more time than the allocated appointment time.

? Doctor receives a phone call that they have to take during clinic.

? Doctor has to deal with an emergency.

Where possible, we use our patient display boards in the waiting areas to keep patients informed about delays to clinics, I am sorry if this did not happen on the day you attended.

I will feedback to the clinicians to keep reception updated if their clinics are running late so we can update our display boards and keep you informed.

We are sorry to hear that the room you consulted in was smelly; we do have air conditioning installed throughout the practice and do our best to keep odours to a minimum.

I am not aware of any problems with the air conditioning system currently and these are automatically switched on centrally on a daily basis.
