"90 year old female left waiting"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

I have seen other stories on this website with the same problem. My mother was left in the discharge lounge for over 7 hours. I kept calling, and they said she had already been put into an ambulance. When it all got down to it, she was not put into an ambulance at all and I ended up collecting in my car to go home at 6.o.clock, she had been in the discharge lounge since 11.

She was not in a state to stay on her own and was readmitted. I feel like our elderly treated so badly as if they have just been written off.

Dear reviewer,

Many thanks for leaving a review. We are very sorry to read this and would like to look into this for you. Please can you email further information including your mother’s full name, date of birth, address, and NHS number to communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk (please put the title of your review as the email subject).

We will then be able to liaise with the discharge lounge management team on your behalf and ask them to investigate why this happened. Once again, we are sorry for any inconvenience and additional stress this may have caused.

Kind regards,

Communications Team
