"Unsatisfactoery"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

After my brother being in hospital for nearly 14 weeks was sent home last week. he is now a withering wreck.

He came in after a fall was put on a dementia ward, for what reason we don`t know as he did not have dementia and was tested twice.

could not bare weight on his legs, was put done to knocking his knee when he fell. Only to find out 4-5 weeks later while still in hospital he had a broken hip.

Then they were going to operate to sort out hip. For my sister in law and myself to be pulled to one side asking what did we want to do incase he did not pull through the operation because he was a very sick man. We think he has bone cancer and a mass in his stomach.

This was before any tests were carried out. operation was carried out the following week NO sign of CANCER (thanks for putting us through that).

Has spent another 8-9 weeks in hospital told he was coming home three times he didn`t.

Got an infection that did not go with the antibiotics, was told they were going to re-operate

that never happened. Monday 18th June i was told could not send him home as the dressing needed to be changed twice a day, could only be changed once a day if sent home ( Hey ho) he was sent home on Wednesday evening, cant walk, incontinent and very depressed which he wasn`t.

My sister in law was not told any of this when he was sent home, about not being able to walk and the incontinence.

Discussing state of affairs and not for the first time at this hospital for my brother.
