"Total lack of interest.."

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Endocrinology

Endocrinology were shown that my hormone levels were very low to non existent.

This condition causes depression and suicidal tendencies.

Over several months the dept did make a feeble effort to raise my testosterone levels but all other hormone problems , igf-1 , LH, FSH, Growth hormone have been ignored..

No root cause found or any treatment advised or started.

No regard at all to how I am coping with all of this..

An absolutely abysmal response from the staff of that dept..

All this in comparison to the Renal dept, who go to huge lengths to keep me alive..

Endocrine need new management asap

Dear Steven

Firstly, please accept my apologies for the delay in responding to your feedback. I am so sorry to read of your poor experience with our Endocrinology team and that they have not been able to find a root cause for your symptoms.

I am concerned reading your review and would really like to look into this particular event for you; if you would be happy for us to do so or if there are any other concerns we can help to resolve for you, please contact our Patient and Family Experience (Complaints) team by leaving a message on 01872 252793 or email rcht.patientexperience@nhs.net. A Case Worker will get back to you within 3-5 working days to discuss your concerns with you.

If you are worried about your health and feel that some of your symptoms have not been investigated as they should have been, please do go back to your GP, as they can ensure that this is shared with the Endocrine team and a further appointment can be arranged for you to see an alternative Endocrinologist if required.

I am sorry again for your experience and I hope that we will be able to look into this further for you.

With kind regards

Michaela Brewer, Patient & Family Experience Coordinator
