"Waste of time"

I went to see the Dr last Monday, I had hives on my face and facial swelling. I saw a Dr I had never seen before. She checked my glands were not swollen and told me to take one a day antihistamines, which I had been doing. I was in the room 5 minutes if that. Two days later the swelling on my face was worse and going around my eye, I called to see if I should come in and the receptionist told me she would get the Dr to call me as there were not appointments. After waiting in for the call I called them back at around half 1 to find the surgery closed. I had to wait 2 hours in the walk in to be prescribed with steroids. I called the surgery the next day to find out what happened and was told I was never down for a callback. No appointment was offered, I was just told if I wanted to complain I could write to the manager.

I have looked into the events that you describe, and we are very sorry you had this experience.

However, I am not able to comment on your individual case via this method. You say you were invited to contact the practice manager regarding your complaint, this was so that a personalised response could be made and any concerns you have regarding your medical treatment would be addressed properly.

It is neither possible nor safe to do this through an anonymised complaint on the internet.

We are sincerely sorry if we did fail to log your request for a telephone consultation that morning, and unfortunately it sounds like it was our monthly training afternoon when Out of Hours would be handling any urgent matters.

I hope that your medical problem is now resolved and that your future experience in this practice is more satisfactory. Please do contact either myself or the Deputy Practice Manager, for further discussion if you wish.
