"The nursing support at home is far easier"

About: Renal Community Services / Renal Supportive Care Renal Outpatient Clinics

(as a service user),

At the beginning I attended hospital for my gallbladder and they found out I had a kidney problem by mistake. Had an operation to remove a kidney in 2000. Sixteen years of no issue with one kidney, but the other began to fail a gradual deterioration since. During this time I have had nursing support (hospital and latterly home based). Hospital appointments can be very difficult to attend and the nursing support at home is far easier. I feel the level of contact is right as it is combined with local GP and surgery nurse support.
